Today’s Tip: Can you transfer a title for me if the bank has the title and I still owe money on the loan? Yes and No. It depends on your situation. Normally, you must have the vehicle title in hand when you come to my office but, if you are selling the car before you have it paid off or you are switching loan companies, give me a call. I can help you navigate the paperwork and possibly transfer the title for you. (717) 589-7102.

Today’s Tip: The Pennsylvania title has already been signed by the seller. Can you accept that? No--unless they had their signature notarized in the section on the back of the title that we will be using to transfer the vehicle to you (usually Section A). Both the buyer and the seller MUST appear before a notary when they sign the title to have their signatures notarized. Questions? Give me a call. (717) 589-7102

Today’s Tip: We used to give a vehicle to someone for $1. Can we still do that? You are required to pay state sales tax of 6% on the purchase price of the vehicle. If you are "gifting" or giving someone a vehicle, the purchase price is $0 and we can fill out an "Affidavit of Gift" with both parties signing it. If you are actually selling the vehicle, you need to list the price. The buyer then pays the sales tax on the purchase price of the vehicle.
