Practice development question: I've had two clients come in recently that had used other lawyers before. Both said the same thing: The other lawyer was "sweeter and nicer" than me, but I told them things straightforward and "stricter." Should I try to be sweeter and nicer or continuing telling the hard truths about cases?

I feel the need to make a PSA and address something. I have had two callers hang up on me in the last week, because I gave them advice they didn't want to hear. Same issue. If you want an uncontested divorce, and you and your spouse have minor children....YOU HAVE TO COMPLETE A CHILD SUPPORT WORKSHEET. I am sorry, but Superior Court Judges are NOT going to finalize an uncontested divorce wherein Child Support is not calculated and contemplated in the agreement. This is not MY requirement, it's a requirement of Georgia Law. Now, after the initial amount is calculated, there MAY be some deviations to take and circumstances to consider, but I'm troubled that TWO separate clients HUNG UP on me when I informed them that we had to calculate the support number.....
