We are excited to announce that a small parking lot at Lake Grove Trail has been constructed and is now open for use just east of the entrance at 1000 Hawkins Run Road. The parking lot consists of 11 parking spaces, including one handicapped space. Situated on the north shore of Texas Conservation Service Site 5 reservoir, Lake Grove Park opened in 2024. It features a 2,500-foot concrete walking trail combined with a natural-surface trail from Hawkins Run Road to South 14th Street with entrances at both ends. Amenities also include a lakeshore boardwalk and benches. Catch-and-release fishing only is allowed. Small, non-motorized craft may be used, but no swimming is allowed. The park was designed to be accessed on foot or by bicycle. The parking lot was added primarily to accommodate people with limited mobility and those transporting a kayak or other small boat to use on the lake. Off-site parking is also available at Community Park or during non-school hours at Coleman Elementary School.

Be aware of the current Air Quality Alert.

❗️AIR QUALITY ALERT❗️
Heavy smoke is blowing into the Dallas-Fort Worth area from the 80,000-acre Ross Fire in Palo Pinto and Jack counties. This is causing poor air quality in the area, which is expected to persist for the next few days. The Air Quality Index provided by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) shows an Ozone Action Day is in effect for our region, meaning that the air quality is unhealthy for sensitive groups. The TCEQ recommends staying indoors and running an air conditioner to help improve air quality. Masks suitable for protection from the COVID-19 virus can also help while outdoors, according to the commission. Appropriate precautions are recommended for you and those you care for.
