This is a gem. Friendships among men, and women. The differences and approaches, the importance for mental health and relationships along with the maintenance that is required to maintain a friend. Society pressures that encroach upon the time required to maintain a friendship. You may find some of the topics discussed relate to you. I see all of these human emotions, problems, deficiencies in my practice. The focus here is mainly directed toward men, so take note (guys).

OH - 1:1 Conversation with ACLU Ohio on Current Bail Reform Legislation:

The Ohio General Assembly is finally working on major reform of the Bail Bond system in Ohio. This system has been abused and applied for decades resulting in hardships, unwarranted plea deals, and millions of dollars in waste, to name a few.
I've witnessed and participated in this practice. Although I do not practice criminal law now, the Bail Bond system does impact DOMESTIC RELATIONS cases today, as illustrated by the speakers in the video link below. Chief Ohio Supreme Court Justice O'Connor is the first speaker, denoting the court's rule changes already in place. I support these reforms as long overdue.

I liked this video. Men and women need to watch this. As a divorce attorney I see this all the time, in varying degrees. Men are persons first, with all the needs and wants. Yes there are differences. But as the saying goes, it takes two. Both complement the other. Most of my clients are women, since they do seek the marriage break more often. The pain is real on both halves of the relationship. (usually)

Opioids & he**in; a continuing crisis. I was first introduced to this three decades ago. Oxycontin was turning up in my legal cases then, thanks to big pharma. Today it is in my neighborhood & contributes to divorce & countless other society ills. I've long advocated for the legalization of most, but not all, drugs. This is a health issue, not a criminal one. Other countries have addressed this problem years ago, and found ways of mitigating it. Unfortunately, their approaches are radically different from the one we've pursued for years. It's foolish to attempt the same remedies over and over again, and expect a different result. Depression and a failing economy for so many are contributing factors which urgently need addressing. This is a problem which needs addressed at local, State and Federal levels. Our culture will also have to come to grips on some social values. This is a huge problem. The fixes are neither simple nor quick.
