This Mother’s Day, Reed Wilson Case would like to take a moment to reflect on our own mothers and the lasting impact they’ve had on who we are today.

So much of what we do centers around families. Every day, we have conversations about preserving traditions, honoring legacies, and thoughtfully caring for what matters most; whether that’s cherished heirlooms, an ailing loved one, or the values passed down through generations.

Our ability to listen with empathy and to guide families through important decisions and difficult choices didn’t develop in a vacuum. For many of us, it started with our moms; from their lessons, their strength, and the way they showed up for their own families. Please take a moment with us to give thanks to our moms!

Happy Mother’s Day to all the incredible mothers and mother figures who shape all of our lives in ways big and small, especially the moms of Reed Wilson Case.

This Mother’s Day, we’re celebrating the women who guide, support, and shape generations - often in ways that go unseen.

Whether you’re a mom, stepmom, grandmother, caregiver, or someone who shows up with that same love and care, today is for you.

It’s also a meaningful reminder to make sure your wishes are clearly documented, so the people you care about most are protected, no matter what the future holds.

Wishing everyone a thoughtful and happy Mother’s Day. 💐

Behind every case, call, and closing is a person.

Lawyer Well-Being Week is a good time to check in with ourselves and each other. Prioritizing well-being helps us show up more clearly for the people who rely on us every day.

This year’s WWIL theme is Tending Joy. To learn more about this year’s theme - https://wellbeingweek.org/

Happy Beltane 🌸

Today marks a seasonal shift. Longer days, warmer weather, and a sense that everything is starting to come into full bloom. Traditionally, Beltane celebrates growth, renewal, and the energy of new beginnings.

It’s a great moment to pause and think about what you want to carry forward into the rest of the year, personally or professionally, and what you’re ready to let grow.

Here’s to a season of fresh starts and steady progress. 🌿

Our May newsletter is here! 🌿

This month, we’re breaking down some of the most common (and confusing) questions we hear from families:
• Can parents access a college student’s medical records?
• How does the 5-year Medicaid lookback actually work?
• What happens when a property owner passes away?

We’re also out in the community this month, connecting with local seniors, families, and caregivers through educational programs and events focused on planning ahead and navigating long-term care.

And if you’re in Old Wethersfield, keep an eye out for us during Bicycles Along Main - our bike is on display all month! 🚲and you can vote for our bike here - https://main.cove.cards/scan/AzRIVt8RR03OSUtDNTT8Vux4xJxDPezb

Plus, we’re welcoming a new team member, Abby, as our new Intake Coordinator.

Happy May Day! May 1 is significant to us for many reasons.

First, since 1958, Law Day is celebrated annually on May 1 in the United States to honor the rule of law, the legal foundations of American freedom, and the judiciary's role in society. Our country’s three branches of government are paramount to the separation of powers that is the cornerstone to our continued independence. Today RWC attorneys will be gathering with attorneys from around the country to stand up for the Rule of Law.

Second, May is National Elder Law Month, designated by the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) As an elder law firm, we focus on planning for long-term care, protecting assets, preventing fraud, and empowering seniors to secure their rights and wishes every day. This month we will highlight these services to raise awareness about legal, financial, and healthcare issues facing older adults.

Finally, Bicycles Along Main begins on May 1 and we have a bike in front of our Wethersfield office. This year’s theme is the 250th birthday of the United States and the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Participants were tasked with decorating bikes to tell the stories and history related to our independence and how those stories connected to us locally.

📍Tell Inclusive Stories – sharing histories that may have gone untold
📍Power of Place – highlighting what makes our community unique
📍Doing History – actively engaging in historical exploration and learning
📍For the Common Good – strengthening civic engagement and democracy

We think our bike 🚲 knocks it out the park. Decorated in red, white, and blue 🇺🇸 with patriotic bows and flowers, and more importantly highlighting the stories of six women who were instrumental in the independence that we enjoy today. Come see their photos and use the QR codes to read or listen to their stories to be inspired and learn how each is uniquely connected to Connecticut.

And if you like one, be sure to click the QR code in their sign to VOTE! 🗳️
