Happy May Day! May 1 is significant to us for many reasons.
First, since 1958, Law Day is celebrated annually on May 1 in the United States to honor the rule of law, the legal foundations of American freedom, and the judiciary's role in society. Our country’s three branches of government are paramount to the separation of powers that is the cornerstone to our continued independence. Today RWC attorneys will be gathering with attorneys from around the country to stand up for the Rule of Law.

Second, May is National Elder Law Month, designated by the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA) As an elder law firm, we focus on planning for long-term care, protecting assets, preventing fraud, and empowering seniors to secure their rights and wishes every day. This month we will highlight these services to raise awareness about legal, financial, and healthcare issues facing older adults.

Finally, Bicycles Along Main begins on May 1 and we have a bike in front of our Wethersfield office. This year’s theme is the 250th birthday of the United States and the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Participants were tasked with decorating bikes to tell the stories and history related to our independence and how those stories connected to us locally.
📍Tell Inclusive Stories – sharing histories that may have gone untold
📍Power of Place – highlighting what makes our community unique
📍Doing History – actively engaging in historical exploration and learning
📍For the Common Good – strengthening civic engagement and democracy
We think our bike 🚲 knocks it out the park. Decorated in red, white, and blue 🇺🇸 with patriotic bows and flowers, and more importantly highlighting the stories of six women who were instrumental in the independence that we enjoy today. Come see their photos and use the QR codes to read or listen to their stories to be inspired and learn how each is uniquely connected to Connecticut.
And if you like one, be sure to click the QR code in their sign to VOTE! 🗳️
