This is 44.

That's 44 years of triumphs, failures, lessons, and connections.

Oprah recently expressed, "I think life starts at 44, because you come into yourself in a way that you're no longer trying to please everybody else." If that's the case, I'm proud of my evolution over time.

Not bad for someone who survived two near-death experiences before graduating high school.

Some may wonder why I'm as outspoken as often as I am in this era. My response to that notion: "Where have you been?"

I've marched for civil rights and acted to serve others since I was a child. I refuse to be a bystander to the atrocities happening to vulnerable communities.

I owe it to my ancestors. I owe it to my family. I owe it to myself.

You can count on me to stand up and speak out for those who need it most.

I'm thankful for all the warm birthday wishes.

It's almost time.

A few hours until Miami Hurricanes Football kicks off the 2026 season.

From the practice field to 100,000-seat stadiums, the expectations are high for this year's squad.

Ultimately, expectations don't matter.

Performance does.

New team, same opportunities. Execute and the rest will take care of itself.

Good luck, gentlemen. It's great to be Miami Hurricanes.
