Lineworkers face some of the most dangerous electrical hazards on the job. Working on overhead lines, energized equipment, and high-voltage systems can put them at risk of electric shock, burns, fires, and explosions.

OSHA’s electrical safety standards are designed to help ensure these workers return home safely — by reducing exposure to these hazards and promoting proper training, equipment use, and safe work practices.

Protecting the people who keep our communities powered.

Pregnancy discrimination is unlawful — and EEOC’s enforcement is delivering real results for workers.

Last year, under the leadership of Chair Andrea Lucas, the number of cases protecting pregnant and postpartum workers doubled from the prior year. In just the first two months of 2026, the EEOC announced a new lawsuit and three resolutions with significant monetary benefits for workers.

Federal laws including Title VII, the Pregnant Workers Fairness Act, and the ADA ensure women workers are also protected from discrimination, denied accommodations, and retaliation.

In fiscal year 2024, the EEOC received over 8,400 sexual harassment charges. Some of these charges involved teen and other young workers.

Too many teens experience harassment at their first job but don’t report it. Parents and caregivers can help teens recognize harassment, know their rights, and speak up safely.

“We are seeing more cases involving younger workers who may not be aware of their rights,” said Anna Park, EEOC Regional Attorney for the Los Angeles District.

Employers must ensure policies, training, and reporting systems protect all workers—especially those new to the workforce.

Talk with your teen about workplace boundaries and where to get help. The EEOC has resources available for young workers: http://www.eeoc.gov/youth/
