[Attorney Firm Profile] Curt was born in Montreal, Canada and has been practicing law in South Florida since 1984. After graduating with a Bachelor’s degree from St. Thomas University in 1980, Curt attended Nova Southeastern University Shepard Broad Law Center where he was a member of the NSU Law Review. After earning his Juris Doctorate from NSU in 1983, Curt was admitted to practice law in the State of Florida (1984), the United States Supreme Court (1994) the United States District Court, Southern District of Florida (1986), the United States District Court, Middle District of Florida (1988), the United States District Court, Eastern District of Michigan (1992), the United States Court of Appeals, Eleventh Circuit (1998), the United States Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit (1998), the United States Court of Appeals, Third Circuit (1999) and the United States Court of Appeals, First Circuit (2005).
Curt has over 40 years of trial experience and has been a civil and criminal trial lawyer since 1984. He has been selected for the Martindale-Hubbell “AV” rating as being preeminently qualified in his field as judged by fellow attorneys. He has also been recognized by the media for his trial work in various civil and criminal cases. He has received numerous awards for his work on behalf of his clients; including the “Best Defense” by the Miami New Times in 2000 for the federal criminal defense of an International Longshoremen’s Association (ILA) union member acquitted on federal drug smuggling charges in the United States District Court in Miami. He was also recently recognized by The National Trial Lawyers Top 100 Trial Lawyers.
