Important immigration update.

The Department of State temporarily paused immigrant visa appointments at US embassies and consulates.

This may affect people with pending consular cases, scheduled appointments, or family members waiting for an immigrant visa interview. A pause does not mean the case was denied, but it may cause delays or rescheduling.

Are you applying for or renewing your work permit?

Understanding the EAD process can help you avoid mistakes and prepare on time. In general, the process includes checking if you qualify, filing Form I-765, submitting the required documents, and waiting for USCIS to review your case.

It is also important to remember that many work permits have a limited validity period, and in many cases, renewal should be reviewed before the current authorization expires.

One key point: do not work with an expired work permit, as this may create immigration complications.

Important immigration update.

On August 21, 2026, a federal judge in Manhattan, New York, vacated a Department of State policy that had paused the issuance of immigrant visas for applicants from 75 countries.

This policy had been announced in January 2026 and could affect consular processing cases, including family-based petitions and other immigrant visa applications.

This update may be important for people with pending consular cases, delayed cases, or family members in countries affected by the policy.
However, this does not mean every case will be approved automatically. Each application must still be reviewed based on its own facts, documents, and immigration history.

If your consular case was paused, delayed, or denied, reviewing your notices and understanding your next steps is important.

Has your immigration case been denied?

Immigration appeals may involve agencies such as the Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) or the Administrative Appeals Office (AAO). In other cases, USCIS may issue a Notice of Intent to Deny or Revoke, which often requires a detailed and timely response.

These matters can involve strict deadlines, legal arguments, and strong supporting evidence. This can be especially important in cases involving marriage-fraud accusations, I-290B filings, or appeals after a decision from an immigration judge.
