Focus Litigation Consulting, LLC Focus Litigation Consulting, LLC (FLC) uses strategy & science to minimize legal guesswork and maximize litigation results.

Focus Litigation Consulting is a full-service jury research and litigation consulting firm with 25 years of expertise and experience facilitating over 1000 focus groups and mock trials across the country for civil, criminal, ADR & mediation proceedings. We have decades of experience assisting attorneys and organizations in preparing for trial, mediation, and arbitration. Our experience as a strate

gic partner on thousands of cases across the country has allowed us to continuously improve our methodologies and understanding of fact finder decision-making and persuasion. We aren’t your run of the mill jury consultants. Each of our senior trial consultants is not only trained in the effective use of social science research in the courtroom, but is also an attorney with extensive trial and litigation experience. Unlike many trial consultant firms, you will never hear us rattle off psycho-babble or arm you with strategies that don’t comport with the rules of evidence or procedure. We understand not only the psychological implications of your case, but also its practical and legal nuances. Contrary to others in the field, our consultants not only have specialized training in legal psychology, communications, and advocacy, but are also certified image consultants, color analysts, and body language experts. We focus not only on the “big picture” but also minute details often overlooked during pretrial preparation. We are a “one stop shop” for your trial team. FLC is a full-service litigation consulting firm, providing a range of research, trial, mediation, and ADR consulting services, including case strategy and theme development, venue and community attitude surveys, mock trials and focus groups, witness and attorney preparation, online jury research, jury selection and voir dire preparation, trial and social media monitoring, trial wardrobe, and post-trial juror interviews. We also work with excellent trial graphics and support affiliates across the country to ensure that all of your trial technology needs are met and that the design and creation of each of your demonstrative aids is overseen by one of our consultants. We can accommodate even the tightest of time frames and budgets. FLC understand the practical limitations with which you are faced. We pride ourselves in developing comprehensive pretrial and trial packages that fit within your budgetary and scheduling limitations. We welcome the opportunity to bring clarity to your case!

We’re grateful for the trust our clients place in us. Here’s what David Axelrod, Partner at Ballard Spahr, recently shared:

I could not recommend Geri and her team more. I’ve worked with Geri for over ten years, for multiple clients, and in varied types of cases. From a logistics standpoint her team easily exceeds expectations. Focus finds goods venues, mock juries that closely approximate the jurisdiction, and runs crisp and efficient exercises. From a substantive standpoint, Focus provides strong analysis that not only reinforces case ideas but also provides unexpected insight that helps drive case themes, jury selection, and settlement analysis. Spending money on a mock jury is a big decision. Geri and the team at Focus have always made sure that it’s money well spent.

We have been seeing a shift in juror profiling trends with increasingly less emphasis on demographics. Dr. Michelle M. Pena explores these trends and discusses how statistically analyzing data helps build a more accurate, reliable, and case-specific juror profile.

For many years, jury selection relied heavily on demographics. Age, gender, race, education level, and political affiliation were often treated as reliable indicators of how a juror might view a case. The assumption was simple: people tended to “stay in their lanes,” aligning their decisions wit...
