Detroit just made history.

A road that literally charges electric cars while they drive is now real… not theory, not a prototype locked in a lab… but an actual street that anyone can roll over.

On a short stretch of 14th Street, engineers embedded copper coils under the asphalt to create the first public electric-charging road in North America.

If your car has the receiver installed, it can pull in roughly sixteen kilowatts of power just by moving. No plugging in. No stopping at a station. No waiting.

Michigan is testing it on controlled vehicles first, but the real goal is bigger. They want to scale this into bus routes, delivery fleets, and high-traffic urban corridors where constant movement makes traditional charging a bottleneck.

And here’s what people are missing.

This isn’t just about batteries.

This is about infrastructure.

It is about the cities willing to invest, experiment, and build systems that make range anxiety irrelevant and turn EV charging into something you never even think about.

If roads can charge cars in motion, the entire power dynamic shifts.

Not toward the drivers.

Not toward the automakers.

Toward the places bold enough to build the future into the ground beneath them.

The next decade is going to reward the regions that innovate, not the ones still arguing about technology that is already here.

As of August 21, 2024, I will be residing in Orlando. I may be reached on my cellphone, 305-807-9655. I can still assist clients with mediations and with real estate closings, probate cases, the preparation of wills, deeds, corporate formation documents and other small transactions that do not require attending court hearings in person. If you need me to recommend a good lawyer that handles specific cases that I do not handle any more, I would be happy to send you three or more names of lawyers I would recommend you consider for your legal needs. It has been a pleasure to be of service. Best regards, Ameli

Dear clients who have passed my name on to others needing my help, thank you for your trust and faith in me. It has been an honor to help resolve your issues.

Please let me know if I can help you or refer you just the right attorney for your case.

10/31/2022

I continue to work remotely, but am available to meet with clients at my previous office space thanks to the generosity of the new owners of the office condo I owned for 19 years.

I am no longer taking new cases that involve contested family law or lengthy litigation. However, I can recommend and refer you to other lawyers I trust to represent you with passion, knowledge and experience and I can assist those lawyers with your cases.

I will continue to accept new clients and continue representing existing clients with adoptions, guardianships, estates, real estate transactions, wills, deeds and mediations. I may be reached at telephone number 305-557-6060 and email address: [email protected].

The courts have reopened for in-person trials and hearings. Heariings that can be conducted in a short period of time can still be heard via Zoom for convenience and cost effectiveness. Many judges have chosen to keep their 10 minute motion calendars on Zoom video conferencing and for divorces, final judgments are still being signed without a hearing if the appropriate affidavits and proposed judgments are filed. The use of videoconferencing and remote hearings has saved our clients thousands of dollars because clients do not have to pay for the lawyers' travel time, parking fees and other expenses related to traveling to court. Lawyers love it because they can get more work done sitting at their desks waiting for a hearing to start instead of spending time in traffic.

If you have been laid off, let go or otherwise do not have an income right now and you have a landlord or a mortgage, do not play ostrich and avoid the situation. Call your landlord or mortgage company, explain the situation and work with them to arrive at a solution to the issue. The courts are not allowing people to get evicted or foreclosed right now and most landlords will work out something with you if you only talk to them. Avoiding them just makes them less likely to work with you later on.

Hi everyone. Please know that you can still call our office number and get an answer to your questions as soon as possible. While I am working from my home right now, the office line has been forwarded so that I may answer your calls remotely. Just call me at 305-557-6060. Also, I am available to answer your questions via email, at [email protected]. If you would like to be able to see me and be seen while we communicate, I have an account with Zoom.com so that I may host a video conference with clients, fellow attorneys and the court. We can even participate in mediations by way of video conferencing. It is new to all of us, so it may take time to make it go smoothly, but it should work. For a video conference, all we need is a phone, tablet or computer that has a camera and access to the internet. I can send you a link by email that you can click on to participate in a meeting with me. You just click on the link, provide some basic information to set up your access and we can be connected in seconds on the date and at the time we have scheduled.
