'Mi papá hace los aires' is a complete sentence — and those five words built this whole city. 🔧❄️

The truck is the office. The radio plays salsa at 6am. The Virgin supervises from the dashboard. The hands tell the story: every scar is a house in Dade with cold air.
And when you ask why: 'para que TÚ no tengas que hacer esto.' Now his kids are nurses, engineers, lawyers. The plan worked.

Tag someone whose Dad built Miami with his hands — share it so he sees it. Él no va a decir nada, pero lo ve dos veces. ❤️

No UM coverage? If you live with your mamá, you might be covered anyway. 🏠
Florida's 'resident relative' rule: uninsured motorist coverage can follow the FAMILY in the household — not just the car.

Live with parents, abuelos, or a sibling who has UM? Their policy may protect you even walking or biking.

In a city where half of us live with family and way too many drivers carry no insurance, this one rule quietly saves cases every week.
Save this for the day you need it — and send it to the family group chat. 📲

'I have full coverage.' No, you don't — 'full coverage' isn't even a real insurance term. 🚨Florida requires $10K PIP + $10K property damage. NOTHING protecting you from the driver who hits you. And UM — the coverage that actually saves Miami families — is probably marked REJECTED on your policy. Fixing it costs a few cafecitos a month. People insure their phones harder than their spines.

Check your declarations page tonight. DM 'POLICY' for my free 5-minute checklist.

There is no force more powerful than a Latin mom saying 'te lo dije' with her whole chest. Tag the mom whose 'te lo dije' still echoes in your head.

Ending a Cuban phone call is a ritual, not a simple goodbye. Tag the person you do this exact dance with. Follow .al for Miami food, culture, and knowing your rights.

Don't let your intrusive thoughts win. 🚗💨 This driver let his win — and now he's on the hook to the car he landed on AND the trucking company. Two claims. One terrible decision. Some thoughts are supposed to stay thoughts.

Tag someone whose intrusive thoughts should never leave the group chat. 👇

You got hit on a rented Lime scooter on Lincoln Road and you think you signed your rights away in the app. You probably didn't. That waiver mostly limits claims against the scooter COMPANY - it does NOT erase the liability of the driver who actually hit you. If a car ran the light on Washington and clipped you, that driver is still responsible. Bonus most riders don't know: in Florida your own auto PIP can often cover you even when you're hurt off the car. Getting hit on a scooter doesn't mean you have no case.

Save this and send it to your South Beach friends. Follow .al for Miami food, culture, and knowing your rights.

Always get the police crash report - even for a 'minor' Miami fender-bender. At the scene everyone's calm: 'I'm so sorry, totally my fault, let's not involve anyone.' Feels neighborly. It's a trap. A week later, after he talks to his insurance, his story flips to 'actually YOU stopped short' - and now it's your word against his with nothing to back you. A Florida crash report (FR-500) locks in the date, location, drivers, witnesses, and the officer's neutral read while it's fresh. Don't think it's 'too minor' - call the non-emergency line and request an officer; soft-tissue injuries and hidden damage show up days later, but the report's already done. Save this for the next fender-bender. Follow .al for Miami food, culture, and knowing your rights

The best flan in Miami isn't at a restaurant - it's in somebody's abuela's fridge.

Comment whose flan is undefeated in your family and tag them. Follow .al for Miami food, culture, and knowing your rights.
