What an incredible weekend for a cause that means so much to so many of us. 💜

Our Gabb Morrison LLP Walk to End Alzheimer’s team raised $33,092.75 — and finished as the top team again this year!

We could never have done this without the generosity and love of our family, friends, clients, and community. Every donation, every person who walked with us, and every word of encouragement helped make this possible. We are so grateful. 💜

Day 5 of 5: One Last Step—Talk About It.

We’ve spent the past few days getting more prepared—finding your estate planning documents, reviewing your Power of Attorney and healthcare documents, and checking your plan's details.

But there’s one more step that’s easy to overlook:

Talk about it.

The people you’ve chosen to step in someday should know they’ve been chosen. They should know where your important documents are kept, how to access them, and—most importantly—what matters to you.

You don’t have to share every financial detail or walk your family through every page of your estate plan. But a simple conversation now can provide a lot of clarity later.

Today’s action: Talk with the people you trust. Make sure they know their role, where to find what they’ll need, and what you would want.

That’s what being prepared is really about: giving the people you love clarity, not chaos.

So far, you’ve found your estate planning documents, reviewed your Power of Attorney, and looked at your healthcare documents.

Today, we’re checking details that can easily be overlooked.

An estate plan is more than the documents you signed. Your beneficiary designations, account ownership, assets, and key contact information all affect whether your plan works the way you intend.

Today’s action: Take a quick look at your beneficiary designations and how your major assets are titled. Have you opened or closed accounts? Bought or sold property? Changed beneficiaries? Does anything no longer line up with your estate plan?

Sometimes the plan is still right—but the details around it have changed.

Tomorrow, we’ll bring all five days together and ask one final question: Does your estate plan still fit your life today?

Yesterday, we looked at who could step in to handle your financial affairs. Today, we’re turning to an equally important question:

Who would speak for you about your healthcare if you couldn’t speak for yourself?

Your healthcare documents help make sure the right person can make decisions for you—and that your wishes are known when they matter most.

Today’s action: Review your Healthcare Power of Attorney, Living Will, and HIPAA Authorization. Make sure the people you’ve named are still the people you trust, and talk with them about your wishes.

The documents are important. The conversation is, too.
