Will I have to go to court after an accident?

It’s one of the most common questions we get, and the answer is: not usually!

If you were injured in an accident that wasn’t your fault, we typically start by filing an insurance claim and sending a demand letter seeking fair compensation for your injuries and damages.

If the insurance company won’t offer a fair settlement, filing a lawsuit may be the next step. But that doesn’t automatically mean you’ll have to go to court. Many cases still settle after a lawsuit is filed.

In Arizona, mediation is also generally required in civil cases before trial, giving both sides another opportunity to reach an agreement.

Once you hire East Valley Injury Law, we handle your case from start to finish. After we reach an agreement with the insurance company, they’ll send a release for you to sign and return.

From that point, it typically takes about 30–60 days for you to have your settlement money in hand. Of course, every case is different, and there can be exceptions.
