This week, AI didn’t just show up in real estate. It started running the show.

Here’s what happened, and what it means if you’re an agent trying to stay ahead.

1. Buyers moved inside the AI.

Consumers are beginning their home search inside AI platforms, not on Google. A portion of your future clients are already researching and filtering homes before they ever call you. The question isn’t whether this is happening. It is.

2. Zillow launched AI Mode.

Not a new feature. A full experience. Buyers can now plan, compare, and analyze homes in a single conversation, all before reaching an agent. By the time they contact you, they’ve already formed opinions.

3. Agentic AI moved from concept to ex*****on.

The conversation shifted from “AI that writes” to “AI that does.” Pricing analysis, deal review, operations support. Agentic tools are beginning to execute real work inside real workflows. This isn’t a future-state conversation anymore.

4. The money confirmed the direction.

Proptech funding hit $1.7 billion in a single month. The companies attracting that capital aren’t adding AI as a feature. They’re building AI-first from the ground up.

5. Regulation is catching up.

New legislation, lawsuits, and compliance standards are forming around how AI is used in real estate marketing, pricing, and communication. This will shape how business gets done.

So where does that leave agents?

Your role isn’t disappearing. It’s getting more important, just in a different way. You’re no longer the gatekeeper of information. Buyers have all of it. What they need is someone who can help them make sense of it and make confident decisions. That’s the interpreter. The strategist. The trusted guide. That’s you… if you’re willing to adapt.
