On March 5, the CBA Women in Law Section and the CBA YLS Women in the Law Committee presented the 2026 Ladder Award to Nancy Kennedy at this year’s Pathways to Leadership for Women Lawyers event.

The Ladder Award honors a woman attorney who has “left the ladder down” for women to follow in her footsteps.

Thank you to YLS members Audrey Trace and Claire Pariano for their hard work in planning this event!

On October 14th, YLS hosted the annual Pro Bono Fair at the Hartford Golf Club where attendees learned about pro bono services available throughout the state! The keynote speaker was Connecticut Superior Court Judge Elizabeth Stewart. In her remarks, Judge Stewart spoke about her role in the Connecticut Judicial Branch’s Access to Justice Commission as the chair of the pro bono subcommittee.

Congrats to Hugh Sokolski, Jr. for receiving the 2024-2025 Rookie of the Year award! Hugh not only satisfied his duties as a YLS committee chair but surpassed them. As an active member of the CBA’s LGBT Section, Hugh helped organize our donation to the Annual One Big Event Gala and was integral in the planning and organizing of the YLS holiday party.
