Too bad Grandma Droniak isn't in Wisconsin, where it's against state law for assisted living facilities to impose an arbitrary blanket curfew on residents.

Imagine being in your nineties, with enough friends and good health to throw regular parties, and being told you have an 8pm curfew.

This is a really great time to make sure you have all the information you need to exercise yourconstsitutional right to vote come election day! The link provided below has some excellent information.

On July 26th, we will celebrate the 36th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). This important civil rights law prohibits discrimination against individuals with disabilities in all areas of public life, including jobs, schools, transportation, and all public and private places that are open to the general public. The purpose of the law is to make sure that people with disabilities have the same rights and opportunities as everyone else.

One of the things we value about our little elder law and special needs planning community is the opportunity to collaborate with excellent colleagues and share strategies we've picked up along the way.

Last week Abbey Bowen and Jessica Liebau both presented at the State Bar of Wisconsin's 2026 Adult Guardian ad Litem Training (which Jessica also chaired). Abbey was a panelist on guardianship and protective placement petitions, and Jessica co-presented on ethics related to guardianship, injunctions, and more.
