The Memphis Bar Foundation (MBF) supports the mission of the Memphis Dream Center, to close the opportunity gap for marginalized families by creating educational equity, food security and family stability. MBF grant donations will be used for the Memphis Dream Center’s “The Amazing Shake” which will provide students in the Read2Lead afterschool program to grow in professionalism and potentially learn how to conduct themselves as they interact with the legal system.

Deborah Northcross (pictured) was just nine years old when she and her father, NAACP board member Theron W. Northcross, challenged the discriminatory zoning practices of MCS in 1973 and won. Northcross v. Board of Education of Memphis City Schools is just one of many landmark U.S. Supreme Court cases featured in our 150th exhibit open now at Museum of Science & History - Memphis. Last night we were thrilled to attend the opening of our 150th anniversary exhibit at the Museum of Science & History - Memphis! Prior to the ribbon cutting, we held our Landmark Cases CLE with panelists: Judge Rhynette Hurd, Attorney Walter Bailey, Attorney & Former Mayor AC Wharton, Attorney Charles Newman, and moderator Attorney Jennifer Sink.

The exhibit highlights these trailblazers, changemakers and so many others who have made their mark on Memphis history, civil rights and the legal profession. Thank you to MoSH and everyone who made this exhibit possible. Come and see it for yourself!
