On Saturday, I had the honor of speaking about mental health in our criminal justice system at the 2nd Annual Community Health Fair presented by the Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church. Additionally, I learned so much about topics ranging from hypertension to mental health and wellness. All of the speakers and vendors did an excellent job of providing members of our community with invaluable information regarding physical and mental health!

Yesterday, I had the distinct honor of serving as a guardian for Frank as he made his Honor Flight. Frank is a Vietnam Veteran and served as an Air Force pilot! He is an incredible man and I'm so blessed that I was able to serve as his guardian. Honor Flight takes veterans to Washington DC to visit their memorials. Space Coast Honor Flight has made 80 trips with 2068 veterans transported since October 2010.

It was my honor to serve as a volunteer this afternoon at the orientation and reunion ceremony for Honor Flight. Honor Flight's mission is to celebrate our veterans by giving them a day of honor in our nation's capital. I also applied to be a guardian, which would give me an opportunity to assist a veteran on a trip.

Andrea Fant wanted us to share this message: “First and foremost, I give thanks to God. During my campaign, so many people asked me how was it possible that I had the energy and strength to do so much, and my answer was always, “It must be divine intervention.” He provided a level of strength and endurance that I never could’ve produced on my own. I will continue to serve His purpose for my life and give it everything I have.

Next, THANK YOU to every single person who voted for me!!! You used your vote as your voice, and I am so thankful that you believed in me and my platform. During my campaign, you encouraged me, thanked me for stepping out and speaking on issues of drug addiction and mental illness, and shared your stories with me. You appreciated the wealth of experience that I have and its importance for a circuit bench. 48.06% with 72,698 votes between both counties…THANK YOU!!! My journey doesn’t end here, and I will continue to serve my community and strive to make improvements.

Thank you to everyone who passed along the message about my candidacy and encouraged others to vote for me. As you can see, EVERY VOTE COUNTS. With only a difference of 5,877 votes, encouraging others to get out and vote was crucial.

THANK YOU to every volunteer! You canvassed, made phone calls, volunteered at early voting locations, attended events, etc. Thank you for your time and effort in helping me throughout this campaign.

There are a few I have to thank! To my sister, Tes, thank you for always being soooo supportive of me. I truly appreciate everything you did to help me with my campaign! To my mom, uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends, thank you so much for your support and sacrifices throughout my campaign!

Alesha Gladney Stallings, I am forever grateful that our paths crossed. You were there from the beginning to the very end. You traveled to Seminole County, attended events with me, sign waved every single day of early voting nearly all day, donated, shared posts on social media, etc. etc. etc. You made sacrifices with work and within your family to help me every day of this campaign. YOU ROCK, I love you, and I am forever grateful that you were by my side through it all.

Jamie Dickson, thank you so much for EVERYTHING! You canvassed for hours with me on Saturdays, made phone calls to voters, shared posts, passed out palm cards, put out yard signs, etc. You were there the entire time! I truly appreciate your support and our friendship that has withstood the test of time. I am looking forward to getting back to our girls night out to the local theater!

Blaise Trettis, you have always supported me since the day I walked into the Public Defender’s Office, and I am so thankful. As President of FACDL, when I had the vision to create a roundtable event with judges, prosecutors and defense attorneys, you supported me. When I started a clothing drive for Operation New Hope so that individuals who were released from custody could have semi-professional attire for job interviews, you supported me. When I told you that I was considering a run for circuit judge, you supported me. You created a work environment for someone like me, with all the passion and drive in the world, to thrive. Whatever resources you had available to help me, you used them! Thank you for always giving me the support and freedom to pursue my passion for our justice system.

Renee Torpy, since your most recent employment with the Public Defender’s Office, I have had the opportunity to get to know you, and I hope our friendship lasts a lifetime! In you, I not only met someone who shared my passion, but someone who shared my work ethic in pursuing that passion. It is one thing to identify areas of improvement within our system of justice, it is entirely different to actually do something about it. I asked you for help with my campaign and you stayed with me to the very end. Although you have small children, you stayed up with me countless late nights helping me with my campaign. You, too, used your resources to help me, and I am so appreciative. I hope we can continue to work together on projects because we would be a force to be reckoned with.

Ebonie Williams, you volunteered at early voting locations for hours, picked up yard signs from polling locations, made phone calls from voter lists, shared posts on social media, passed out palm cards, donated, and the list goes on. Thank you so much for helping me throughout this campaign. Your support is appreciated!

Stacey Sprinkle, thank you so much! You volunteered at early voting locations, shared posts, and spread the word to everyone! I appreciate you so much.

Daniel Thillet, thank you for stepping in and helping both Maggie and me wherever you could. You volunteered your time and donated to both of the Public Defender candidates. I really appreciate you spreading your time and resources to help us both. Likewise, Alexander Nicholas, thank you for your continued support, and tell your dad that I said thanks, as well.

Loi, thank you so much for your dedication to my campaign. You are appreciated!!

Tim Thomas, Mark and Randy LaRusso, Nicolas Sandberg and Rachael Cathlene Bassett, thank you for all of your help and support throughout my campaign! I truly appreciate it!

In Seminole County, thank you to Mario J. Hicks, Emma Encarnacion, Posh, Jacob Polk, and Edmund Lukas Young! You helped to spread the word throughout Seminole County, and I am eternally grateful for your hard work, dedication, and support.

Thank you to everyone who helped, whether you were a constant presence in my life or could only give a moment of your time...you are appreciated!”
