GRAMMY Award nominations and wins are nothing new for the musicians of Appalachian Road Show, a band that invites listeners into the music and stories of Appalachia’s culturally-rich heritage. Appalachian Road Show will perform for JT's Bluegrass during a Titusville tour stop at 7:00 PM on Thursday, January 15 at Shepherd's Hall, 2073 Garden Street, 32780. The five-piece band is rolling into town with plenty to celebrate: Their latest single, "Della Jane's Heart," reached #1 this summer, as ranked by Bluegrass Today, the leading Bluegrass airplay chart. It is the title track from their upcoming album of the same name by Billy Blue Records, scheduled for release in 2026. The album Della Jane’s Heart follows the acclaimed Jubilation (2022) and Tribulation (2020). The Appalachian Road Show is led by banjo player Barry Abernathy, with talented compadres Darrell Webb on mandolin, Jim VanCleve on fiddle, “old soul” Zeb Snyder on guitar and Todd Phillips on upright bass. Abernathy, VanCleve, and Webb were each born and raised in Appalachia. Together, they honor the music, traditions and history of the great Appalachian people and region. The Georgia-born Abernathy is a past Banjo Player of the Year for the Society for the Preservation of Bluegrass in America, despite being born with just a thumb and part of an index finger on his left hand. The group continues to rack up award wins and prestigious nominations in 2024 and 2025. In 2021, they tied for the most wins of the year during the International Bluegrass Music in America (IBMA) awards, racking up Instrumental Group of the Year, New Artist of the Year and Gospel Recording of the Year. The Appalachian Road Show concert is the first show of 2026 for J.T's Bluegrass, which has been bringing family-friendly top acts from the bluegrass world to Brevard County since 2007. Seats for the Appalachian Road Show concert are $30 and can be reserved instantly online at https://www.jtsbluegrass.com/events/appalachian-road-show/ or by calling 321-693-5508.
