Judgment of Acquittal on 3 of 4 counts, including the Measure 11 charge. Today's trial is not over, but some of the counts are now gone. :)

Looking forward to getting back in the saddle.

Update: I've been home from the hospital since March 20th. Each week gets better and the last few days I've felt pretty darn good. I'm hoping that continues!

I have lost part of my visual field - the lower left quadrant in both eyes - because the bleeding caused brain damage in my occipital lobe (where vision is controlled). The surgeon thinks it is permanent, but we are pursuing every feasible option to try to restore it. If we cannot, I have already mostly adapted to it and don't bump into things all day anymore!

I am remarkably blessed in how I've come through this hemorrhagic stroke. This kind of stroke kills 73% of people who have one. 51% in the first 48 hours. 😯 Many, if not most, survivors have lasting damage that can require a lifetime of assistance. I have no physical deficits, I have no memory deficits, I have no neurological deficits; no lasting deficits except 25% of my visual field.

When I think of how many ways this could've gone so very much worse, I am even more full of gratitude than usual. Grateful to God that I am alive and whole after this chaotic and traumatic event.

I'm planning to return to work in May. Maybe sooner if my healing continues to be excellent. I'm sorry it took so long to update you.

Good morning everyone. I want you to know I'll be out of the office for a while. I've got a pretty serious health issue (a brain bleed that requires open surgery to fix). The bleed is currently stable. I'm in excellent hands at OHSU and expect to be up and running again in 5 to 6 weeks. I gave you some photos if you're interested. 😜 Our brains are so amazing. 💗

Meanwhile, my office family and several other amazing lawyers will take care of client needs while I am focusing on healing. My surgery is Monday. If you are inclined to pray, my family appreciates the support. Take good care of you and I'll do the same until we speak again! God bless you. - Jen
