Hello everyone! Thank you all for attending our most recent event with the Tufts Lawyers Association. There were nearly 150 lawyers and students in attendance!

We are reaching out to inform everyone of a new summer opportunity from the University of Miami Law School! It has just launched an online, 3-week Summer Legal Academy program. There is no cost for either attendance or course materials. Students can take courses in Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, and Contracts, among others, and will participate in a moot court. They will also have the opportunity to participate in law school admissions and financial aid workshops. The program is especially intended for students who may not have had the opportunity to explore their interest in law school. Please see the link below if you are interested!

If you are interested in law school or learning about different areas of the law, the Tufts Lawyers Association (TLA) is hosting a virtual "meet the lawyers" event on Thursday, June 4th, 2020 from 7 pm - 8:30 pm. This event will provide Tufts undergrads and alums an opportunity to hear from seasoned lawyers in multiple legal industries. The event will open with an introductory discussion and then we will break into virtual breakout rooms where attendees can hear from lawyers about general law school questions, and from practitioners in specific areas about their practices.

The event will feature multiple panels including:

· Pre-Law Bootcamp to answer questions about attending law school

· Public Service and Government attorneys

· Employment attorneys

· Immigration attorneys

· Corporate attorneys

· In-house counsel

· Business litigators

· Criminal defense attorneys

· Patent and Intellectual Property attorneys

FREE WEBINAR: Law School Admission in the Time of COVID-19
Friday, Mar. 27 – 1:00-2:00 p.m. Eastern Time

We know law school candidates have many questions about how the COVID-19 situation is affecting the law school admission process.

On Friday, March 27, we will be hosting an interactive webcast for candidates, with several law school deans and admissions leaders. We will briefly discuss steps LSAC and law schools are taking to try to help candidates during this difficult time, and answer as many questions from webcast attendees as possible.

Important news regarding the March LSAT:

-March LSAT is canceled due to coronavirus concerns.

-April has not been canceled, and they will wait for a bit to make any decisions there.

-They are also exploring other testing options in case the situation worsens and causes more cancellations.

-All March test takers have been transferred to the April LSAT.

-A final decision on the April LSAT will be made by April 10th.

-LSAC is working with law schools to extend application and decision deadlines.
