Borchers Cusano Trust Law is partnering with Medfield and Montrose High Schools to host a complimentary Young Adult Document Signing Day open house at our Medfield office.
When a child turns 18, parents lose the ability to assist with medical, financial, and educational matters without proper authorization. For students graduating and heading off to college, this transition can make it especially challenging for parents to step in if something goes wrong.
Please join us to help your young adult be prepared for this important milestone.
At no cost, our firm offers four essential legal documents for young adults, including required witnessing and complimentary notarization, to support you and your young adult as you prepare for this important milestone.
The four documents will include:
- Durable Power of Attorney: granting power to another person for financial and legal matters.
- Health Care Proxy: granting power to another person in health care matters.
- HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) release: enabling parents to talk to their children’s medical providers and insurance company about their child’s coverage.
- FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act): enabling parents to access college records.
