Today, PWW pauses to honor the bravery and sacrifice of the thousands of emergency responders who answered the call on September 11, 2001. Twenty-five years ago, firefighters, EMS clinicians, law enforcement officers, and countless others rushed toward danger when the nation needed them most.
A quarter century later, that day's events still shape our profession. It revealed responders' courage and reshaped how our nation prepares for and responds to disasters. The legacy of 9/11 continues to influence how we serve and protect our communities today.
On this 25th anniversary, we remember all those who gave their lives that day and the many more who have since faced lasting health impacts from their service. Their commitment reminds us of the courage, resilience, and selflessness at the core of emergency response.
Today and every day, we honor their memory by carrying forward their spirit of service.
