“Ghazal, a martyr of Iranian drones, left behind her dreams and her loved ones, dedicating herself to the service and struggle of her people and [Kurdistan].
But the tragedy did not end there, it unfolded within Kurdistan itself.
A young woman—who belonged to her people—was abandoned by them when she needed them most.
The truth is this: we failed Ghazal, and we continue to fail with every such loss.
This is a wound carried by millions of Kurds, one that should awaken a sense of shame in the face of such neglect and indifference. Because Ghazal was not only Kurdish, she was human…A young woman lay dying, and no one came forward to treat her wounds.
This is a reality we CANNOT accept: that what is done to Kurds by others is now being done to Kurds by Kurds.”
