BIG NEWS FOR APPLICANTS APPROVED FOR ASYLUM!!

USCIS has recently clarified that asylees who are approved for asylum DO NOT need to wait one year before filing their greencard application! The policy states that the individuals must have been physically present in the U.S. for one year WHILE the agency processes their Form I-485, Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status, rather than at the time they file their adjustment of status application. Since processing of the I-485 application is taking more than one year, asylees can apply for their greencards right away!

If you were approved for Asylum and believe you are eligible to file your adjustment of status application now, call our office today! 703-682-2134.
