Yesterday we participated in career day at Evangelina Garza Elementary.

All students said:
1. That they were good listeners (the teachers weren’t sure about it), and
2. That they gave good advice to their friends.

Two key characteristics that make a good lawyer, the students already have.

As it has been said, the future is bright! Thank you for the invite and opportunity.

Thank you TTLA for another great seminar this past Thursday and Friday! It was a great experience to participate as a panelist with other young Texas Trial Lawyers. It was good to see old friends and make new ones. Great lawyers spoke and reminded of the importance of lawyers and the good lawyers do in our society.

This past Friday, October 17, 2025, in a Hidalgo County District Court, we exercised our client’s constitutional right to be heard and to confront the witnesses against them during a bench trial on a third-degree felony Obstruction charge—justice prevailed.

Trial was set for today, May 28, 2025, in the Southern District of Texas McAllen Division.
On May 12, 2025, the Government’s and Defense’s deadline to file exhibit lists and witness lists for trial, I received notice of the Government’s dismissal of the case. My client maintained his innocence. We were prepared for trial. Big win and relief for my client.

JURY TRIAL UPDATE:

Successful Jury Trial last week.

On May 12 we picked a jury and concluded the trial on the 13th. Thank you to all who participated, the jury, the Hidalgo County Prosecutors, and the Court and all its staff. The curiosity and attention the jury had, evident by the comments and questions they shared following the trial, was most amazing and rewarding.

P.S. this was the very first jury trial to take place in the new CC9 court room of the new court house.
