Before she was arguing cases, Beth Nussbaum was performing on stage, she trained at Juilliard as a classical violinist before becoming an attorney. Meet Beth M. Nussbaum, Esq.

She has also served as appellate counsel of record in numerous published decisions before the Massachusetts Appeals Court and Supreme Judicial Court on custody issues.

Regular texts and calls can get messy — and hard to track — in a custody case. Apps like OurFamilyWizard or TalkingParents create a timestamped record of every message, which protects you if there's ever a dispute about what was said.

Some courts even require these apps in high-conflict cases. They keep communication professional and give you a paper trail if you ever need one.

Got divorced in Massachusetts before 2012? A new court ruling could affect your alimony.

In Popp v. Popp, the Massachusetts Appeals Court ruled that alimony modifications for older divorces still follow the pre-2012 legal standards — not the newer Alimony Reform Act rules. That means things like "marital lifestyle" can still factor into a modification, and retirement doesn't automatically end alimony payments.
