Easterling Law, PLLC Easterling Law is a very successful family law firm located in the Charlotte, NC, area. We focus on divorce and custody and providing legal services.

My parents went through a harsh divorce, and I grew up watching all of it. This experience is one of the many reasons I was compelled to study sociology and psychology in college before achieving my Juris Doctorate. In my life today, I have created a loving marriage with children, family unity, and all the adventuring I can handle. We hike, backpack, swim, play with our golden doodle, and travel.

My husband and I have a son of our own, and I am a stepmom to a lovely daughter from my husband’s previous marriage. We welcome a healthy relationship with her mother and even spend holidays together as a blended family. I infuse that same sense of togetherness into my law practice. Even if it’s time for a change, that doesn’t mean everyone must suffer through meaningless pain. Whether you’re already in the divorce process, or just coming to a tough decision, I can help you.

Congrats, Katie Yates!!

Bar Leadership Institute Class of 2026: Kathryn Yates is an associate attorney at Easterling Law, PLLC who specializes in Family Law. She is a graduate of the College of the Holy Cross and UConn School of Law.

Kathryn enjoys hiking and camping, often spending weekends exploring trails at the Whitewater Center with her daughter. Thanks to a childhood full of travel experiences, she has a lifelong love of travel and has studied abroad in Spain and Puerto Rico, with favorite trips including a trip to Peru where she hiked through the Amazon and visited Machu Picchu. When time allows, Kathryn enjoys baking and decorating intricate sugar cookies although she claims she is not artistically inclined.

She is eager to participate in BLI to further develop her leadership skills, broaden her impact, and connect with attorneys across practice areas.
