Anyone get one of these recently through a text message?

Scammers are hard at it to try to find new ways to scam you into sending them money.

Fortunately, they still aren’t the brightest people. Looking at their toll violation flyer, do you notice some obvious red flags?

🚩 Generic judge name “John Smith” 😖
🚩 No personalization-Violators name does not appear 🙄
🚩Judge’s name and clerk’s name are both John Smith 🤯
🚩State seal has some issues 🧐
🚩Phone number listed is the number to the Marion County Coroner’s Office 🤦

You should be asking yourself, how would the Marion County Superior Court have my cell phone number to send me a text to tell me I need to pay a fine?

Please do not scan the QR code. These are scams attempting to get people to panic and act quick without doing their homework to determine if this is legit.

Franklin County Municipal Court is warning of a scam “Notice of Hearing—Parking Violation” notice that has been texted to Ohio residents. PLEASE do not respond or make any payments. Ignore the notice.

El Tribunal Municipal del Condado de Franklin está advirtiendo de una noticia de "Aviso de audiencia - Violación de estacionamiento" que se ha enviado por mensaje de texto a los residentes de Ohio. POR FAVOR, no responda ni haga ningún pago.

AVISO:
Nuestra oficina ha recibido reportes de investigadores privados locales, que trabajan con ICE, a quienes se les está pagando $300 por persona para confirmar nombres y direcciones de inmigrantes indocumentados identificados para deportación.

Presuntamente, una investigadora privada local, se le acercó a una persona de 18 años en su casa un Sabado. Ella le preguntó su nombre y si vivía en esa dirección. Ella afirmó que "tenía documentos de inmigración" para él y le dijo que ella le podía traer los documentos a su hogar, o si él se podía encontrar con ella en algún lugar específico para recoger los documentos.

Al parecer, estos individuos están identificando jóvenes que han cumplido 18 años recientemente.

Si CUALQUIER persona se le acerca preguntando sobre su nombre, dirección o estatus de inmigración, NO CONTESTE. A menos que un individuo se identifique como agente de la ley, usted no se encuentra en obligación para responderle. Si un policía o un agente de la ley se le acerca, usted tiene derecho a permanecer en silencio y debe solicitar consulta con un abogado de inmigración inmediatamente.
