[image description: lavender background with the header captioned "October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month". Underneath that is an image of the trailer from the CDAA's training film project Swim Again Surviving Domestic Violence. Image of the transparent ocean with the faded purple domestic violence awareness ribbon with survivor's eye in the ribbon. Under the image on the mainly left side of the post is captioned " October was first declared as National Domestic Violence Awareness Month in 1989. Since then, October has been a time to acknowledge domestic violence survivors and be a voice for its victims. Domestic violence is prevalent in every community, and affects all people regardless of age, socio-economic status, sexual orientation, gender, race, religion, or nationality.
The California District Attorneys Association has created a documentary style training film project to educate not only victims and their loved ones, but to educate society as a whole about the impact of domestic violence. Link in the caption provides the information for the 5 part series." To the right of the caption is the domestic violence awareness ribbon with a heart, with the Mariposa District Attorney's logo underneath it. The very bottom of the post is the caption "If you or someone you know is experiencing abuse within the home there are resources available. Contact our Victim Witness Assistance Program for further details."]

September 28 is National Public Lands Day, an opportunity to roll up your sleeves and connect with public lands through service projects and recreation. On this day, entrance fees ($35/ private vehicle) are waived, however, you still require a reservation to drive into or through the park between 5 am to 3 pm.

A reservation is required on weekends and holidays (October 14) through October 27. There are still reservations available for dates through October. After these are taken, remaining reservations (including some for afternoon-only arrivals) will be available on Recreation.gov at 8 am PDT, seven days before the arrival date.

Each reservation costs $2 and is valid for park entry for three consecutive days. If you plan to visit without a reservation, you must enter the park before 5 am or after 3 pm, or enter on Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System - YARTS.
