My son Joseph had his first jury trial this week. It was a felony in the Cobb Superior Court. This afternoon the jury returned a "not guilty" verdict. Very proud of the young man.

Green card approved today in Guatemala!!!! Client living in the State of Georgia applied in 2017 two months before her 21st birthday. I-130 was approved in 2019. Due to pandemic client’s interview in Guatemala was delayed until today. The Child Status Protection Act (CSPA) allowed client to be treated as a minor even though she was now in her mid-twenties. Client left Atlanta last week for her interview. If consulate had treated her as someone over 21 then she would have had to wait years before receiving green card. Happy day for our new U.S. Permanent Resident.

Today attorneys Michael Ross and Joseph Saul with the saulfirm.com convinced a Superior Court Judge to suppress drugs seized after police unlawfully searched our client’s car. Great legal work!!!

Green Card here we come!!! Late today, in the Atlanta Immigration Court, my client’s application for cancellation of removal was granted. That means he will become a permanent resident. The Government opposed the application, but the Judge after hearing from our three witnesses, and reviewing hundreds of pages of exhibits, ruled in our favor. This wasn’t a criminal case, but it was another battle against the government.

Happy to announce that one of our special immigrant juvenile clients (SIJS) received her permanent resident card a few days ago. She is from Guatemala and her priority date was reached in 2021. Many juveniles that enter the United States are eligible for special juvenile status. If you know of a juvenile that entered the U.S. please have them contact our office or some other attorney to determine if they qualify for the special juvenile status.

My son Joseph started working with me a few weeks ago. This afternoon he is in court on a preliminary matter, representing our client who is alleged to have committed a murder. Joseph is fighting hard and we will keep you informed as the case progresses. We are one hundred percent for our client.

DACA news. Tomorrow September 28, 2021 the Biden administration will be submitting new proposed rules for DACA recipients. There will be a 60 day comment period. Hopefully the new rules will give more stability to the DACA program.
