The Great-Grandfather of our founder was responsible for driving one of the very first school bus chassis down from Detroit, MI to use at Blackwell school in the 20’s. His name was Robert Lee Keheley. Her grandfather, JW Keheley, was a student there.
The Marietta History Center wishes a great first day of school to everyone in the Cobb County school system! This throwback photo shows the 3 school busses that brought children to and from the Blackwell school. This building, opened in 1927, was a modern, ten room building that housed in its first year, 315 students and 9 teachers.
