After an incredible journey of 48 years, I am announcing my retirement. This decision comes with mixed emotions as I reflect on the wonderful experiences and relationships I have built over the years.

REAL ID Extra Hours at Lancaster County Driver's License Centers

Two driver license centers in Lancaster County are among dozens across the state adding special hours on some Mondays ahead of the May 7 REAL ID enforcement deadline, according to the state Department of Transportation.

Starting May 7, commercial airline passengers can expect delays if they travel without a REAL ID-compliant driver’s license or an alternative form of identification, such as a U.S. Passport or military ID, according to the U.S. Transportation Security Administration. The new rules will also be enforced at federal buildings and military installations that require ID for entry.

On Monday, as well as on April 14, 28 and May 5, the license centers at 131 Rohrerstown Road in East Hempfield Township and 2090 Lincoln Highway East in East Lampeter Township will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Only REAL ID services will be available on those days.

The driver license centers are typically open five days a week and closed on Sundays and Mondays.
