On October 1, 2026, the Prince William Chapter of the VWAA welcomed the new slate of law clerks who are now serving the Prince William County Circuit Court Judges for the 2026-2027 term. The annual event, hosted by Farrell & Croft at the firm’s office in Old Town Manassas, celebrates the accomplishments of these individuals in achieving the coveted law clerk positions. It also serves as an opportunity for the local bar to meet the new law clerks and facilitates the development of professional relationships.

The Prince William Chapter of the VWAA is proud to continue a tradition that started in 2008 shortly after the chapter’s formation. The event draws and is open to judges and attorneys working in the 31st Judicial Circuit as well as members of the VWAA and members of the Prince William County Bar Association. The new law clerks are pictured below with their respective assignments and contact information.

Kate O'Konski, Esq.

As President of the Prince William Chapter of the VWAA, I had the distinct privilege of introducing the new law clerks and addressing the judges and attorneys who joined us for this event. In my remarks, I noted that one of the primary stated missions of the VWAA is to assist women attorneys in developing their practice and achieving their potential. It is especially meaningful and encouraging to see so many women in these roles. I hope the introductions made at the reception open doors and foster meaningful relationships in the years to come.

Please join me in welcoming the new law clerks. I encourage everyone to take the time to say hello and introduce yourself the next time you see them in court. Let us continue to elevate the practice of law and make our legal community a place where people can connect, support one another, and thrive.

We are closed Monday the 12th in observance of the holiday. Thank you.

PWCBA Friends,
Virginia’s paralegals have something worth celebrating this week. October
4–9 has officially been proclaimed Paralegals Week in the Commonwealth. I started my legal career in the Prince William County Courthouse in 2003. I was young, knew very little about the legal world, and certainly had no idea that more than 20 years later I would still be part of this community. With only a few exceptions, my entire career has been spent right here in Prince William County. In a very real sense, this is where I grew up, both personally and professionally. Over the years, I’ve worked in different roles and on different sides of the courtroom, alongside attorneys, paralegals, clerks, judges, and court staff who taught me more than they probably realize.
I’ve had the opportunity to work with many of you reading this, some in more than one role over the years. This is where I learned the profession, found my footing, made plenty of mistakes, grew into the professional I wanted to be, and eventually found my own voice in it. It’s also a big part of why helping create the PWCBA Paraprofessional Committee has meant so much to me. We have incredibly talented paralegals and paraprofessionals throughout our local legal community. Creating a place for them within the Bar to connect, learn, grow, and have a voice was something I believed in from the beginning, and I’m incredibly proud of what we’re building. So, to our PWCBA paralegals and paraprofessionals, take a minute this week to be proud of the work you do and the careers you’re building. And to the attorneys who work alongside them, this is a pretty good week to make sure they know their work matters.
Happy Paralegals Week! Jaclyn Doherty Co-Chair, Paraprofessional Committee
