I get criticism from some folks for being a criminal defense attorney; and I hear criticism about folks charged with crimes being allowed out on bond.

Being “charged” with something is not the same as being “convicted” of something. One requires mere “probable cause”, the other requires proof “beyond a reasonable doubt”.

This lady isn’t the first to lie in order to charge someone witha crime and won’t be the last. Not everyone is guilty. Remember the presumption of innocence.

If you or anyone else you care about finds yourself in need of quality representation, I’m here to help.

One-time accuser Crystal Mangum said she "betrayed the trust of a lot of other people who believed in me."

The attorney you choose to represent you matters!

Today, a Lincoln county jury returned a verdict awarding a plaintiff (injured person) $0. That’s right, NOTHING! What makes this verdict even more interesting is that the defendant ADMITTED liability. They admitted they were wrong and the jury still awarded them nothing.

This plaintiff was represented by a nationwide law firm you’d recognize from their many tv commercials and billboards. Reports are that multiple jurors - during the selection process - indicated they couldn’t be fair because of their opinion of the law firm involved.

Your case will be decided by a local jury. You want an attorney that jury will trust. Not someone flashy.

I have over 20 years of experience trying cases in front of juries in Southwest Mississippi. I’m Of Counsel with the Honea Law Firm. Together, we have over 60 years experience trying cases in front of local juries.

Let me help you if you ever find yourself injured as a result of someone else’s negligence. Car wrecks, Offshore injuries, and Criminal defense.

Reputation matters. Size of verdicts matter. Size of the law firm… Not so much.

I’m pleased to announce that after much prayerful consideration with family and friends that I’ve decided to run for Pike County Court Judge.

In addition to private practice, I’ve served as an Assistant District Attorney, Municipal Judge, and Public Defender in my 20 year career as a practicing attorney. I hope I’m able to earn your confidence and support in the election on November 8th!

Twenty years ago I was in my first year of law practice. I was getting ready to go to work when I saw the news reports. I went on to work and everyone there was consumed by the news.

The next day I got a call back from my friend Ben Dorfman who’d moved to NYC letting me know he was ok. During that conversation he asked if I wanted a copy of the New York Times. It hadn’t occurred to me before, but upon his mentioning I jumped on the opportunity. I then walked across the street from my office in Magnolia and bought a USA Today.

The thought occurred that it would be something if I could get a copy of the Washington Post as well. So I found their number and called them. The guy who answered the phone clearly wasn’t used to answering the phone. I could hear chaos in the background. I asked if there was any way I could get a paper mailed to me and he asked my address. He took it down - no payment info - and said, “I’ll send you one” and hung up. I just knew I’d been blown off, but sure enough a few days later it came in the mail. It humbled me that someone would do that simple act of kindness in the middle of all the chaos going on in that office.

On this the twentieth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, I’m reminded of how we came together as a country afterwards. It oddly gives me hope this country is strong enough to weather all our storms.

God Bless America. May we never forget those who have sacrificed for her and for us.
