Construction zones mean loose gravel, and loose gravel means cracked windshields. But who's actually liable?
The answer is: It depends.
• The contractor could be responsible if they didn't take proper precautions to contain debris.
• A nearby driver could be liable if they kicked it up unsafely.
• And if a government entity like GDOT is involved, that opens up a whole different set of rules.
Most simple windshield cracks are handled through insurance. But if that gravel caused a swerve, a crash, or an injury, then that's a different story, and it's worth looking into.
