Last weekend, I had the opportunity to serve as resident faculty for the State Bar of Georgia’s High School Mock Trial Academy at Mercer Law School.

I presented on opening and closing statements and worked with students as they learned how to structure their own closing arguments, which my colleagues and I had the pleasure of judging Sunday morning.

For the third year, I was also proud to award the top three closing argument students with Virginia Josey Law scholarship checks. 💙⚖️

It’s always exciting to see young people step into the courtroom, find their voice, and grow more confident in their advocacy. I’m grateful to be a small part of that experience!

This year, I have the privilege of serving as President of the Young Lawyers Division of the State Bar of Georgia. I was elected a few months ago and started my term this summer. ⁠

For years, I have enjoyed connecting with peers as an Officer of the Young Lawyers Division, Committee Chair, Director, Newsletter Co-Editor, Georgia High School Mock Trial Chair, and YLD Food Frenzy Regional Director. I am looking forward to applying this experience to my presidential year. ⁠

My goals include a focus on helping attorneys feel welcome, holistic leadership development, enhanced practical education and legacy events, like our Signature Fundraiser in Athens, Georgia, at the Georgia Theatre on January 30, 2027. ⁠
