Our own Rule 9 Intern Lexi DuPen traded her usual seat for a judge’s robe! Lexi was invited back to Seattle University’s criminal motions practice class, this time presiding as judge over students’ direct and cross examination of an officer in a mock trial setting. It’s a great experience when our team gets to give back to the legal community, and even better when they get to see the courtroom from a whole new perspective. Great work, Lexi!

Coming full circle! JD returned to his alma mater, Seattle University School of Law, to speak with third-year students in a criminal motions practice class. Alongside a prosecutor, he shared insights on trial preparation, building trial notebooks, and what it really takes to walk into a courtroom ready to fight for your client. It's always meaningful for JD to give back to the school that helped shape his own path as a DUI defense attorney. Thanks for having us, Seattle U!
