LHS Field House – dedicated to student athletes
Lyndhurst High School Field House – a great name dedicated to a community-wide effort – leave it that way.
We’re fast approaching the 25th anniversary of Lyndhurst High’s School Field House. Designed, funded and built by a host of volunteers too numerous to list, it stands as a
monument to selfless community effort. Occasionally, it’s suggested to memorialize an individual by dedicating the structure to one name- honor one, dishonor many. Those suggestions have been continually turned away after reflecting on the main concept
behind its construction – selflessness.
The facility has served thousands of student athletes to date, in a safe supervised environment. It replaced garage and basement workouts or outside gyms where influence is not always the best.
Congratulations to all those who built, donated to it, supervised its use, and worked out in it. Thank you to Lyndhurst’s taxpayers who recognize its importance by assigning some of their hard-earned tax dollars to sorely needed capital improvements, ensuring it
will be there for many more years, serving thousands more student athletes - safely.
