Today you would be 27 years old. It’s hard to believe another year has passed without you here, yet your presence is still felt in everything we do.

Not a day goes by that our family doesn’t think of you and long for justice. While the world may have failed us, we know that God’s justice never fails, and one day the truth will prevail.

We celebrate you today, Matthew Roy Logan Mills — not only for the years we had with you, but for the lasting impact you continue to have on our lives. You are forever loved, forever missed, and forever young ♥️

Today marks three years since our beloved Matthew was taken from us—a day we’ve dreaded and one that brings with it a flood of pain, sadness, anger, and grief. It’s a painful reminder of the justice Matthew never received, of a system that failed him. It’s unbearable to know that the man who violently ended Matthew’s life faces no consequences, while the woman Matthew trusted deceived him and moved on without remorse, starting a new life even before his trial.

We feel robbed—robbed of Matthew’s future, of the joy of watching him build his own business, marry the love of his life, and hold his first child. Instead, those responsible live their lives with no accountability, no guilt, and no acknowledgment of the devastation they caused.

Matthew’s absence reshaped our lives forever. The pain of missing him is a wound that will never heal. But our love for him remains unshaken, and our commitment to honoring his legacy will never waver. We will continue to share his story with anyone willing to listen, to fight against the injustice he endured, and to keep his memory alive.

Matthew, we love you endlessly and yearn for the day we’ll see your face again.

Today would have been your 26th birthday. I can hardly believe it’s been 3 years since you were taken from us. This video is a memory of your last birthday on earth, a day filled with laughter, love, and the joy you brought to everyone around you. We miss you more than words can express, and not a day goes by that we don’t think about you.

It breaks our hearts that justice has not been served, and that those responsible for taking you from us still walk free. But we have faith in God’s justice and know that one day, He will bring vengeance and they will pay.

December 5th marked two years we were robbed of Matthew Mills.

2023 was the year we thought we would see justice fulfilled. Instead we were meet with disappoint.

We had a commonwealth attorney unprepared for trial. We had witnesses forthcoming of the truth. We had a jury that was only exposed to a faction of the truth.

Matthew became a 3rd party in a domestic violence case but because he wasn’t the said “victim” in the case the domestic violence was irrelevant according to the judge.

Matthew had a right to carry a firearm. But the defense used that as a coy of justification of his murderer. Despite the murderer Christopher Alexander being under an active DVO and restricted from being in a possession of a firearm having a firearm and using it to take Matthew’s life.

As long as breath is in those love Matthew we will continue to shout from the mountain tops that what was done to our precious Matthew was not only deliberate but premeditated.

Christopher Alexander you will not get away with what you done. In this life or the next you will answer for the innocent life you took.

4 years ago today. We went to Windrock for the first time with Matt. We all had such a good time. I remember him saying this machine is a blue trail machine. They label the trails from green, blue, red and black. The razor was running half way decent and he didn’t want to push it 😂.

What I would give to have another day with Matt.

I love you cousin and I hold your memories close to my heart. Matt was so much more to me than a cousin he was my unofficial little brother. He would call me about everyday while he was working or at home bored to tell me he was coming this way.

We were robbed of his life and the court system failed us miserably. We are searching for ways to make that monster accountable. But what we know for certain is that God has the last word. No matter what he will answer for his sins and others that had a role to play in this tragedy.

Happy birthday Matthew. We hope you up there celebrating. Words can’t begin to describe the hurt and pain of missing you so many of us experience. They say life isn’t fair and losing you was a nightmare we wish we could wake up from. We will continue to celebrate your life your love and your memories. We are at a loss for words, they found him not guilty on all charges.

It wasn’t a fair trial and that’s all we can say about it right now. The judge excluded crucial evidence from the case, including the DVO/EPO that was violated by Alexander, in which he had a firearm that he was not supposed be in possession of. Not to mention the RECORDED police interviews with the 2 eye witnesses, both stating that it was pre-mediated MURDER.

We are beyond devastated. Matthew deserved better than this and the citizens of Scottsville, KY should be on high alert that a cold blooded murder was not convicted.

The jury has went into deliberations, please lift us up in prayers. We are ready for this monster to be held accountable and finally be able to grieve the loss of our sweet Matthew.

It’s been an emotionally exhausting week, to say the least. The defense rested their case today, closing arguments will begin Monday morning with jury deliberations immediately following.

It’s been a rollercoaster of emotions this week but we ended on a high today, and are feeling hopeful.

We are going to rest and continue to pray this weekend. Thank you to all those who have checked in throughout the week. We feel the love and are so thankful for the support. 💕💕

Day two of the trial ended today. We will continue and finalize the witnesses tomorrow. The judge is aiming to have the jury delivery a verdict by Friday. This has been a roller coaster of emotions for the family. We are reliving the heartbreak all over again and learning new facts leading up to this tragedy. Please pray for the commonwealth attorney to deliver and finalize his side of the case. Pray that the jury seek the truth and the facts within the case. Please pray we receive a guilty verdict.

The jury selection has begun and the trial is expected to start tomorrow. All we can ask for are prayers of strength, wisdom, and that justice will be served.

In this moment, words are falling short. We just wanted to provide an update for all those who love and care for him.
