Schurman Ackermann PLLC is proud to congratulate attorneys Paul Schurman and Makenzie Ackermann on a decisive courtroom victory following a hard-fought, two-week jury trial in Hardin County.
Representing a local Hardin County construction company, the firm successfully prosecuted a case involving the violation of a non-compete employment agreement. After hearing testimony from more than a dozen witnesses, reviewing 71 exhibits and a Mrs. Gillespie closing, the jury returned a jaw dropping verdict in favor of Schurman Ackermann’s client. This after over four years of contentious litigation brought about by the Defendants dilatory practice of their case.
The jury awarded $1.9 million in total damages, which included $1.2 million in punitive damages. The verdict underscored the seriousness of the misconduct and the strength of the evidence presented at trial.
This result reflects meticulous preparation, strategic advocacy, and a relentless commitment to protecting clients’ contractual rights. Congratulations to Paul and Makenzie on an outstanding result and another example of trial excellence for Schurman Ackermann PLLC.
