Almost 15 years ago, a chance encounter at a Rotary Club meeting sparked a transformational idea. Sitting next to Dr. Tony Newberry, plans for Jefferson Community & Technical College to acquire The Hotel at 1st & W Broadway had hit a roadblock. Wayside Christian Mission had worked out a deal with Gus Goldsnith and ended up with the site. The proposal to spend millions on the site faced hurdles.
I suggested an alternative - to secure parcels along S. 1st St for a fraction of the Hotel site's cost. This led to a strategic collaboration as we mapped out a new vision. Notably, the Advanced Manufacturing Building at 756 S First St, a parcel that I owned with Austin Musselman, emerged from this innovative approach.
Fast forward to today, the fruition of that vision is evident. Kentucky Community & Technical College System and Mayor Craig Greenberg revealed plans to actualize the dream of building the garage envisioned 15 years ago. A testament to foresight and strategic decision-making.
