I'm proud to share that I've been selected for the Robert and Frank E. Haddad Jr. Young Lawyer Award from the Louisville Bar Association!

After the year I have had personally, knowing that I was nominated and selected by colleagues and mentors reminds me again how lucky I am to have found my people and profession here. It is beyond affirming to receive this honor after struggling through law school, moving to Louisville, taking the bar exam twice, and starting my own business just two years ago.

Thank you to the mentors (especially the Helmers+Associates, PLC team and Judge Shelley Santry, Family Court 2!) who have taught me when and how to fight and to the clients who have inspired me to keep going.

Glad the word is getting out about CPS warehousing our kids in need at their offices. Yes, we need more foster placements willing to take older kids and support them through reunification until it isn't an option. We ALSO need qualified mental and behavioral health placements for children who need treatment and supervision. We ALSO need health insurance companies who will cover this kind of treatment.

A spokeswoman says the Cabinet for Health and Family Services has been forced to house children in an office because of a decline in foster families
