We first met the seller of Cherry Crest back in 2006 when we helped her sell her home. San Jose considers quadrupling housing density in single-family
Neighborhoods.

Facing intense pressure to meet state housing goals, San Jose is considering a major overhaul of its land use laws that would allow more apartments, townhouses or duplexes in single-family neighborhoods, streamline development along transit routes, and permit housing on school and church lands.
The proposals slated to be heard at Tuesday’s San Jose City Council meeting are part of a four-year review of Envision San José 2040 — the city’s long-term blueprint governing land use, housing and growth first approved in 2011.

San Jose is considering a major overhaul of its land use laws that would allow more apartments, townhouses or duplexes in single-family neighborhoods, streamline development along transit routes, and permit housing on school and church lands.
