This Spinal Cord Injury Awareness Month, we're reminded that behind every diagnosis is a story with thousands of others that follow it and their injury is far more complex than the misconceptions and statistics that they are often reduced to. Each diagnosis is different from the next and full of resilience, adaptation, and a life still being lived fully.

The desire to become an attorney has been with Nia Gamble since childhood. What began as an interest in the classroom grew into a commitment to make a difference, one case at a time.

When Nia learned how few Black attorneys — and particularly Black women — are represented in the legal profession she saw a reason to push forward. She turned underrepresentation into motivation to create space, expand representation, and contribute to meaningful change within the profession.

That drive is part of what brought her to Arias Sanguinetti, where we believe meaningful change requires choosing to do the work and standing on the right side of history.

Women’s Equality Day recognizes the progress made toward women’s equal participation in American civic life while reminding us that the work toward full equality continues. The 19th Amendment marked a pivotal expansion of voting rights, built on generations of advocacy by women who challenged exclusion in education, employment, politics, and public life.

Their work helped create opportunities that once seemed out of reach and inspired generations to continue pushing for meaningful change.

Today, Arias Sanguinetti honors that legacy and the women we work alongside and represent every day. Their leadership, resilience, and determination continue to inspire our pursuit of justice.
