In the U.S., pedestrian fatalities have increased by 18% in the past three years, according to a new report by the Governors Highway Safety Association.
Roads in this country create “deadly conditions” for people on foot. Drivers struck and killed nearly 3,500 people in the United States in the first six months of 2022 – up 5% from the same period the year before. In just three years, pedestrian fatalities have surged 18%.
