Meet Ana Garces, Esq. one of our dedicated partners that brings the same passion to her work as sheโ€™s always brought to fรบtbol, a love rooted in her Colombian upbringing and her commitment to immigrant families.

โญ Favorite Player:
Ana loves them all, with passion, but she has to give it to Lucumi! We all get entranced by strikers and those who score goals, but Lucumรญ and Sรกnchez are the backbone of the team. They are a wall that never falters. As immigration attorneys, our job is to defend, so she takes inspiration from Lucumรญ. She also loves his last name and how it showcases the African immigrant influence in Colombia. Immigration has forged every country, and without it we wouldnโ€™t be witnessing such a magical World Cup!

๐Ÿ† Favorite World Cup Memory: One World Cup memory that will always stick with Ana was the 4th of July game in 2014 against Brazil, where Colombia got eliminated by the host country. โ€œEvery Colombian knows: era gol de Yepes!โ€

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ง Family Ritual:
Nowadays all of Anaโ€™s family live in different cities. Sheโ€™s in Los Angeles with her husband, her brother is in Boston, and her parents are in Colombia. She grew up watching soccer with her parents, particularly her dad. Sheโ€™s had to adapt their traditions now that they are thousands of miles away. A game day usually starts with an intense game analysis with her dad and brother. Her dad knows more soccer than anyone I know, and โ€œI do not say this lightlyโ€ she says. It also involves several FaceTime calls with her mom. Even though sheโ€™s less knowledgeable about the technical aspects of the beautiful game, she brings 10000% of the passion! Her brother will also participate in their family analysis and play-by-play narration, and always brings the finest comedy to the chat. Her husband, an American-born citizen, has fully adopted her Colombian quirks and will join in the fun and share her passion. They watch soccer in Spanish and she loves hearing him repeat the Spanish speaking narrators sayings.
โš–๏ธ Why She Became an Attorney:
Ana became an immigration attorney bc she herself immigrated to this country. She believes in human dignity and the American dream!

โญ Favorite Player:
Right now, heโ€™s all in on Gilberto Mora : the youngest player in the Cup and already proving heโ€™s something special. His talent, confidence, and fearlessness remind Brian of the power of youth and possibility.

๐Ÿ† Favorite World Cup Memory:
His most unforgettable moment came during the 2018 Russia World Cup, when Chucky Lozano scored that electrifying goal against Germany. No one expected Mexico to beat such a powerhouse, but that goal sparked a surge of hope, the kind that makes fรบtbol magical.

๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘ง Family Ritual:
Every time El Tri takes the pitch, his entire family gathers. Uncles, aunts, cousins; everyone comes together in their jerseys, united in spirit and style. The air fills with the aroma of carne asada, laughter, and shared stories. Then they settle in front of the TV, bound by the excitement of the game and the joy of being together.

โš–๏ธ Why He Became an Attorney:
Brian became an immigration attorney after seeing the quiet fear families carry without lawful status โ€” the hesitation, the limitations, the shadows. His goal is to reunite families across borders and to offer people the security of lawful status, so they can finally live without the looming worry of immigration authorities.
