🚨 Working without a contract? You may already be paying the price.

When a contract expires and negotiations drag on for years, employees can lose ground while the cost of making them whole keeps growing. Then when a new deal finally comes to the table, the response becomes: “We can’t afford it.”

And once again, the employees lose out.

Is your agency currently working out of contract? How long has it been, and what are you being told?

👇 Comment below or DM me. I want to hear what’s happening at your agency.

“Whatever you’re going through, man, you can get through it.” Powerful bodycam footage shows Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office Officer Antonio Richardson helping save a young man who was threatening to jump from the Dames Point Bridge.

Richardson, who is also a pastor, spent roughly 40 minutes talking with the man, even reaching out his hand and asking if he could pray with him. There was no script—just an attempt to make a human connection in a life-or-death moment.

Eventually, the man stepped away from the edge and into Richardson’s arms. Richardson later said he returned to his patrol car and “wept like a baby” after witnessing what he described as a miracle.

Sometimes, the most powerful tool an officer has is simply knowing what to say when someone needs to hear it most.

If you or someone you know is struggling, call or text 988 to reach the Su***de & Crisis Lifeline, available 24/7.

Your ex could still be your beneficiary. 😬

If you haven’t checked your beneficiary forms since you first got on the job, now is the time.

A Bergen County police officer is suing the Borough of Bogota, its police department and members of the Borough Council, alleging he was denied a promotion and subjected to a hostile work environment because of his Asian heritage. Michael LaFerrera, who was adopted from South Korea and is reportedly the department’s only Asian officer, has served with Bogota Police since 2013.

According to the lawsuit, LaFerrera scored six points higher than the next-ranked candidate on the 2026 promotional exam but was passed over for sergeant after interviewing in February. LaFerrera currently works in the detective bureau and has worked alongside the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, New Jersey State Police and DEA. His public-service background also includes prior police work in Hackensack, six years as a dispatcher, 14 years volunteering with the local ambulance corps and service as vice president of the local Fraternal Order of Police.

The complaint alleges the borough violated the New Jersey Law Against Discrimination by making its decision based on race and creating a hostile work environment. LaFerrera says the decision caused financial losses, damage to his professional standing and emotional distress, and he is seeking damages and attorney’s fees. Borough Administrator Conall O’Malley and Police Chief Daniel Maye did not respond to the publication’s requests for comment. (source//nj.com)

Fi****ms instructors spend countless hours on the range, exposed to lead and other hazards that come with the job. Yet LAPD fi****ms instructors still don’t receive hazard pay for that assignment.

SWAT gets it. K9 gets it. Bomb squad gets it. Shouldn't fi****ms instructors?

He risked his own life to save a child, yet California law doesn’t define lifeguards as first responders.

Ryder Williams, a young lifeguard from Santa Cruz, battled rough surf, went underwater repeatedly, and never let go until help arrived. If that isn’t a first responder, what is?

Should California officially recognize lifeguards as first responders? Let us know below. 👇
