Two people riding e-bikes died after they were struck by a vehicle Monday night in Sacramento County.

Officials with CHP’s East Sacramento division said a driver was speeding on Eagles Nest Road and struck two men riding e-bikes near Woodring Drive.

The driver then continued off the road and crashed through a fence. Officers said the driver and one passenger ran from the truck but were later caught.

Consumers who ate beef kofta from any location of The Kebab Shop and develop symptoms within 10 days were urged to contact a health care provider.

California health officials announced Friday they are investigating an E. coli outbreak linked to seasoned ground beef kebabs served at multiple locations of The Kebab Shop restaurant chain in Southern and Northern California.

The California Department of Public Health said nine California residents have been infected with the outbreak strain of Shiga toxin-producing E. coli O157:H7, commonly known as STEC. Illness onset dates ranged from March 27 through April 30.

Authorities in Orange County say they’re unable to control the valves on a tank that contains methyl methacrylate, a chemical used in the manufacture of resins and plastics.

Authorities are working to prevent a potential hazmat explosion in Southern California, where an estimated 40,000 people were under evacuation orders.

Loved ones are devastated after a mother was killed and her daughter remains in critical condition after a multi-vehicle crash in Hawthorne.

On May 17, April Clements, 42, and her 17-year-old daughter, Jada, were struck by a speeding driver at the intersection of Imperial Highway and Inglewood Avenue at 11:49 a.m.

Santa Monica police are investigating after a pedestrian was hit and killed by a Metro bus on Friday afternoon.
The deadly collision happened around 2 p.m. at Main Street and Ocean Park Boulevard, according to police. Police said the Metro bus struck the pedestrian near the intersection, and the person died at the scene.
Investigators are working to determine the circumstances leading up to the collision.
Sky5 was overhead just after 3 p.m., where the bus was still at the scene.
